Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport LED fog pod light with bracket. Now this three inch LED fog pod light is going to give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. If you're looking to upgrade your fog lights, this might be a great option for you to consider. Now, as you can see, I already have it connected to my power source here, and I do have the bracket installed on this light with the included hardware.

And again, just wanted to give you an idea of what this was going to look like installed. Try not to cross my wires here. And that bracket is constructed of aluminum, so it's gonna be very durable and you're gonna be able to put that bracket virtually anywhere on your vehicle. And that bracket's also going to let you adjust the angle that you're looking for with this light. And then you'll just, once you find that angle, that's gonna work best for you, tighten down the hardware.

And then it also comes with the bolt that you're gonna use to secure the bottom of this bracket to your vehicle. Now let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off here just to give you an idea of the brightness. I'm gonna zoom out here and I think the best demonstration is going to shine this on the wall behind me so you can get a good view of that fog beam pattern. That fog beam pattern is gonna give you high intensity light with that extremely wide field view that you see there. Now this light has a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin.

So that cool white color will match most factory lights. It's a very crisp color and it's going to really increase your visibility after you have this installed. This has a raw lumen rating of 2,262 lumens and a measure lumen rating of 1,520 lumens. And this has a peak beam intensity of 10,600 candela. Now that Candela rating is, what that does is that measures the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction.

Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want lights shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of those ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. Now this does have a power draw of 1.1 amps and this light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics and TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom designed large TIR optic collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. Now that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. Typically, as you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're going to lose probably up to about 10% of that light just from it shining through that lens. So by making it as part of this lens, you're gonna pick up some efficiency. Now this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsche style connector, and I have another one of those pigtails here with that Deutsche connector just to show you what that looks like when you have it unplugged from this light. It's gonna plug in very simply and it has a secure fit. And then also we have a breather patch here at the back of the light, and that's gonna prevent any moisture buildup inside of the light. And these heat sinks that you see here on the back of the housing, they're gonna do a great job of dissipating the heat quickly to increase the longevity of this light. Now this light has been built with high intensity LED chips and it does feature a durable powder coated aluminum construction. That heavy duty construction will withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. Testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Now just some overall measurements of this light. Again, this is a three inch pod light. So the overall width from end to end, we're sitting at about three and a quarter inches. The overall height of the light itself, again, three and a quarter inches tall from end to end. You add the bracket, that's gonna increase the height to three and three quarters inches from the top of the light to the bottom of our bracket. The overall depth from the front of the light to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting right at about two and three eighths inches deep. Now this light draws high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for a safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you do wanna make sure that the wiring that you're using is 16 gauge or larger to ensure safe operation.
